Painting No. 1
By recreating my first painting I made as a child, this piece is an exploration of memories. When we revisit moments of the past, they are often informed by documented photos or have gaps that are filled in by faded moments. Each panel is a collage of the original image, creating a new composition or, a “made up memory.” The worn, recycled material reflects the familiarity of our memories and how they warp and change overtime.
